Educational Project Schools for educating teachers and parents Vedanta on her inspiration for the project:
“I became a mother in 2003 and it has been a life-transforming experience for me. All I had studied and was inspired about in relation to developmental theories in psychology became a very useful foundation and a resource for learning to be a parent to my precious daughter. It is definitely the greatest adventure of my life. I am sure many parents that want to be conscious would say exactly the same thing. It is an endless learning about the Real. I feel immensely grateful to my daughter for being in my life and being together with her has sensitized me toward the issue of education and schooling.

In 2011, I was invited by the principal to start a project educating the teachers in my daughter’s school (Athener Schule). It was a 2 and half year project which included: Inner Child work, teaching the developmental stages of childhood, becoming familiar with how structures of the Self develop in childhood, learning about the difference between the Essential Being and the personality and how to mirror this in children, John Bowlby’s attachment theory and the application of the model in establishing the relationship between student and teacher in the classroom, group dynamics, Alexander Lowen’s bodytypes of defense, case studies dealing with difficult dynamics in the classroom and much more. The work was very well received by the teachers and was applied in the classroom. The atmosphere in the classroom and the entire school was transformed. It was an extremely touching experience. Based on the great success of this experiment, we decided to expand the work and started a school for the parents. We covered different topics in order to support the parental role, to clarify possible confusion or ignorance and more than anything else to educate and empower the parents in the arduous task of parenting at the level of Being. They were introduced to Inner Child work, attachment theory, the neurophysiology of trauma, dealing with issues of violence and abuse within the family, basic principles of psychological structure and more. Teachers and parents slowly found a common language and orientation and created a strong net of support and authentic seeing around the children.

In the meantime I traveled to Crete to meet the recognized pioneering teacher Aggelos Patsias, who created a unique elementary school within the framework of the public educational system in the village of Fourfoura. I offered some Inner Child work and was strongly inspired by the uniqueness of the atmosphere in this school. The experiment in the Athener Schule in relation with additional factors led a group of parents (including me) and friends to create an entirely new school inspired by a new vision for education that brings the child in the center of its focus. We called it Neue Schule Athen. Within 6 months this inspirational school opened its doors to 147 children. The enrollment numbers are constantly increasing and have reached the maximum number of 210 children and the school for the parents continues to thrive! The education of the parents is supported by the book "Essential Education, The True Teacher, the Parent and the Bond with the Child: Changing the future!" My student and therapist in training Alexandros Kostis, inspired by the issues in today’s educational system is currently networking in Greece in order to connect people who are interested in the creation of open education, free of the constraints of the traditional educational model. To our surprise there are many groups here in Greece that are moving in this same direction. It is a wonderful project that aspires to bring concrete propositions to the Ministry of Education and promote the creation of open schools for children in Greece. The whole effort is to create an educational system that doesn’t suppress the authentic character of the child and rather safeguards the preservation of the true self in the child’s psyche.

Therapist Trainings

Vedanta began training therapists in her early 30’s within the framework of the Power of Light Institute. The educational training for therapists lasts a minimum of 4 years and up to 6 years or more, according to the direction the therapist in training wants to follow. The curriculum includes a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches. Currently, therapists that have graduated from the educational program are practicing in Greece and Europe. Diamond Logos Teachers Trainings Vedanta has been a Senior Teacher in the Diamond Logos Academy since 2001 and created and has been leading the Diamond Logos Academy in Greece since 2007. Many of the therapists Vedanta was training expressed interest in learning about Essence and becoming Essence Teachers, so that served as the ignition point for the Essence Teachers Training to start in Greece. The teacher trainings take place in the Academy in Athens and there are Essence Teachers in Training that currently practice the Diamond Logos work in Greece.

Approach and method Vedanta on her work and methods:

“In my work I use a variety of methods and techniques. Some of them are of my own creation and tested during the course of a career that spans over 30 years of learning, practice and experience. Some techniques are "borrowed" or learned and incorporated into my own work. Others are combinations of things I have learned or experienced and my own inspiration, put together in a unique way, in accordance with my own vision and work. As I started with channeling and learning its esoteric science at the young age of 18, I created and practiced meditations and techniques that had to do with accessing Inner Guidance and the energy flow between the different centers in the body. My interest was primarily how to come in touch with inner wisdom, the intuitive capacity and the psychic gift which makes us capable of being more perceptive, more sensitive and functioning at a high level in our lives and in this world in relation to others. I was interested in a way of channeling that helps us to find the voice of the Higher Self, or True Self, the true Inner Voice. In this way, any inner splitting from our own nature would cease to exist and we would experience inner unity, congruency, clarity about who we are, our direction and meaning in this life. It is our true inner voice that we need to channel and not any borrowed guidance. So, I created a variety of meditations and techniques that support this intention.

In 1987 I became an Osho therapist, fusing techniques I learned from Bioenergetics (Alexander Lowen and Pulsation work), breath work, hypnosis, meditation, dance therapy, Archetypal work, Ritual, Goddess work, Gestalt therapy, Qigong and Tai Chi, rebalancing (deep tissue work), Feldenkreis and Movement Integration, the Bodynamic approach, Trauma work, Co-dependency work and Inner Child work. A significant part of my approach and therapeutic direction is working with the Inner Child as well as working with male -female polarity and relationships. In time, I focused on couple work, the neurophysiology of trauma, John Bowlby’s Attachment theory and the creation of true bonding, psychopathologies, object relations theory and ego psychology.

I started to be trained in the Essence work in 1996 and in 1997 I began training with Faisal Muqaddam in the Diamond Logos Academy. As a Senior Teacher in the Academy I use a variety of techniques in order to facilitate people in reaching and grounding the Essential Experience. Some of these techniques are meditation, Essential transmission, bodywork, breath work and many more.”
